The Importance of Voting Voting is like a vital organ we need to survive. One of our greatest mistakes in politics in the political dedication we have contributed to the two parties that have brought our communities the most headaches. Republican Ronald Reagan got support from our communities for making Martin Luther King birthday a national holiday that is not celebrated on his birthday. Let us not forget after becoming president Ronald Reagan interrupted the appeals of former FBI Director L. Patrick Grey and Edward S. Miller. They were convicted of having conspired to injure and oppress the citizens of the United States. Their crimes were "counter intelligence programs like the ones that targeted Black Panther members. In 1975 an investigation committee headed by Senator Frank Church found that the counter intelligence program operation had from start to finish been fraught with illegality. Democrat Bill Clinton who charmed black America with his charisma. Targeting African American communities to test drive his art of deceit. Slashing funding for public housing by $17 billion, and boosting corrections by $19 billion during his tenure as president. Making the construction of prisons the nation's main housing program for the urban poor (as stated by Michelle Alexander). Both Republicans and Democrats have worked hard to keep our communities dysfunctional. Voting to develop unity and equality for our communities has always been a part of the mission of our laudable elders. When the Black Panther party joined in alliance with the Peace and Freedom party placing slates of candidates onto local and statewide ballots. Our oppressors feared the possibility of this becoming a reality. Our elders had a vision. Huey P. Newton for Congress, Bobby Seal and Kathleen Cleaver for President. That dream should never fail to receive our efforts to become a reality for new generation Black Panthers and it [won't]. North Carolina prisoners can vote upon their release from prison. I am assembling a new generation Black Panther Party for independents that are exercising their rights to vote and back candidates that oppose oppression by any government. Ugh, ugh talk to the hand.
