The Blogger's Intro
I am expecting this to be the first of many entries I will be making to any blog (or blogs) that I can contribute to. The idea of my blog is to open the prison doors to the millions of the people who have loved ones that are incarcerated,. A greater part of society has swept these people under the rug, forgetting about them. But for every inmate, there's a mother, cousin, friend, ect that is worried about that person. These people care about the inmate, and are clueless to what they are going through. Others are at the edge, losing hope that the judicial system is truly fair, or merciful. So hundreds of thousands of people go online, hoping to find answers about prison in hopes to find hope. In most cases, the results leave people teary—eyed in front of their computer or laptop, not getting answers or comfort. But we can change that.
My goal, as a writer, inmate (for the moment) and blogger is to open prison doors, and eyes, to what inmates go through and what the outside can do to stay encouraged and TO encourage. Any sites that decide to publish my writing will have the chance to have a most unique perspective of what an inmate who believe in God, sees in prison.
So, first things first; I've got to introduce myself to the readers.. actually I have to reintroduce myself. You see, this isn't my first true blog on prison issues. I've
,__ ,,.. written over 8000 pages online from about 2001-2010, before I was incarcerated in June of 2010. Do a search of "Nolaw97" or
"Nolaw96" or "masonik4" and you'll likely find some of the places I've written for. Almost every prison-support site or blog that had anything to do with prison had a few of my writings . If I'm correct, my last two sites, "Prison 101" and
"Prison Chains Broken" are still online. Feel free to check those out.
So, who am I? Why am I writing those blogs? First, I'm an inmate in a Federal prison, in Tucson. Now, I can't give you my real name; prisons have a nasty way of retaliating against prisoners; such stories I'd like to share later. So, for the time being, let's use my blogger's name, Nolaw97. Now,
WHY am I blogging? Because there are thousands and thousands of people worried sick about their loved ones in jail or prison. And as you've discovered, resources rarely give you reliable and rarely positive intel. There's got to be a way to reach people, to help them be informed of what their loved ones might be going through, and to also give them hope. My blogs often had the phrase, "There must always be hope". If you're not going to give up on your loved one, I can help you.
So many questions exist about the incarcerated: What do they eat, is it violent, do they watch TV, do the officers treat them cruelly, do they need money while in prison, and a ton of other questions. We can touch on that, in a way that is informative and encouraging. I don't like tearing down walls without rebuilding them. If I share negative info (and prison has a lot of it), I'll also give you venues for solutions. I won't leave you hanging on a negative. If you've read my older blogs, you know I mean what I say.
Guys, don't give up on your loved ones. If you're reading this, then you're looking for answers— and there ARE answers. I love writing, and already have a ton of material I can share; some purely about prison, some also involving my faith in God. I've been keeping a journal off and on since
December 2012, and there is much to tell you. As positive as I try to be, there are times when I am stressed. It IS prison, after all. But the idea is to find a way to overcome; I'll share these things with you.
So, this is my official introduction; my name is
Nolaw97, currently an inmate at a Federal prison in Tucson,
Arizona. Allow me to help you by opening the prison doors, and sharing what we go through, and if you're wiling to hear it, find out why my stay here will be short, and the miracle I have witnessed while being locked up. If you're looking for hope, you've found it right here. Don't give up on your loved
