The children By James W. Harkleroad Out-reach programs. Feeding programs. Keeping pornography out of public libraries. Prison reform. After school programs. Drug abuse programs. Diversion programs. Housing programs. Anti-poverty programs. Advocating for children. All of these are reactions to problems. Band-aids to reduce- not to eliminate- problems in the community. Where is the community where such programs are not needed? Where is the community that - instead of serving the wants of the adults- serves the needs of the children? When the environment is not good enough for the children why are the adults continuing to force them to live in it?
