-Submission- Sunday 6-28-2020 "Cabin Fever" in Covid Confinement Let me begin by telling ya'll that we've <prisoners in Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility> been on this modified program since the end of February 2020 an it's almost July 2020 in a few days. So add that up an think how stir crazy a regular person might act, much less a person with mental health problems like I do. They told us <mental health staff> that the program may return to some type of normalcy around August 2020 but with the rise of cases again, that date looks unrealistic. Instead of sitting ideal, I am making my rounds to speak with those who want to try to challenge this indefinite & unknown lockdown especially since not a single inmate or staff has coronavirus here. Yes, a couple of officers and nurses caught it but they caught it in time, then quarantined themselves. There's no cause to not let inmates get visits. They even took away the free Covid stress relief phone calls although Covid-19 is still going strong with no end in sight, unless the CDC or government comes up with a vaccine an stop slow-dragging progress! Whatever I do, I'll make sure to include any future paperwork inside my stories, although I understand American Prison Writing Archive isn't a legal organization. The documents will only be used to show the steps I went through to try to succeed or fail in my mission for change. The advise to do something comes from your <A.P.W.A> pamphlet on Covid-19. Well, wish me luck and pray for me! Sincerely Shariff Taylor 480 Alta Road San Diego, CA
