99 Days Later

The date (as I write this) is September 12th, 33 days after my last essay titled, "66 Days Later". It was an essay on the continual update of what happened on Memorial Day"
Weekend of 2016... now 99 days ago.
Since then, I've written numerous essays, chronicling the event, to see what USP Tucson would do in light of an accusation of an officer (Huffstuttler) discriminating against inmates. My accusation was strong and sharp, which got the’ attention of Recreation Supervisor Gillooly, but very little, if anything, came out of that.
Since then, my last essay, "66 Days Later", described the retaliation by Recreation by black-balling me from being a co-host to the Inclusion Diversity Day Ceremony. There is absolutely no way to ignore that their act was clearly a retaliation move, to prevent from co~hosting the event.
From then to now, September 12th, nothing has changed.
I ha"e not set foot in the Indoor Recreation Area since that night, and still refuse to. Not just because of Ms.
Huffstuttler, who clearly was wrong in discriminating against several black inmates (including me), but my argument is also against the Recreation Department itself, for complete apathy and slothfulness in addressing the matter. No one has convinced me that this issue will be addressed, so I have to assume that it won't be.
Now, to be fair, my Case Manger DID say that they may be looking at that, but I won't compromise his intel here. But as I told him, "if they don't tell me that they're addressing it, I have no choice but to assume that they're not. And if they're not, I will keep writing on it"... thus the current essay.
It's very disappointing $0 see that, after 3 months, this prison has made no real effort to establish good faith or morale with inmates. I find it difficult to respect Officer
Huffstuttler for what she did, and Mr. Gillooly for not making a sincere effort to address what HE called, "a serious situation". I have seen no evidence that this will be properly addressed. I also have very little respect for Officer
Escobar, who read my entry, and foolishly stuck her nose in my business. Kicking me out of the library and sending me to the
_Lt's office was nothing more than retaliation, and it was the peace of Jesus Christ that prevented me from being provoked to an action that Escobar could have easily twisted to throw me in the SHU— she's done-that before to people.
But this is not to say that nothing will be done. I'm hearing that they ARE trying to move her out, or put her somewhere else. But if this is the best this prison can do, to wait 3 months to TRY to do something, then there is no justice. Huffstuttler's issues here didn't start with me; numerous inmates— and even staff, have complained about her.
She's hardly professional, so why is she still employed? When we, as inmates, do wrong, punishment is swift and merciless.
If they do wrong, they don't even get a slap on the wrist. I'd believe now, if Huffstuttler slapped me in the face, I'D go to the SHU for 90 days for threatening an officer, while the prison does "damage control". Even if 50 inmates saw it and testified, I'd still get no justice. They'd probably ship me to another prison, to protect Huffstuttler, and lie in my inmate jacket about what really happened.
So, 99 days later, we're no better off than when we started. No justice, rather retaliation. I'm surely not a‘ welcome sight to Recreation, but equally, I've very little
‘respect for them. So, it's best for me to stay out of
Recreation as long as I can, and continue to write. I'm not‘ sure I will write another essay on this situation, since nothing has happened. But I'll keep the cap off the pen for awhile; just in case something DOES happen.
So, for now, 99 days after the discrimination that
Officer Huffstuttler showed several black inmates at indoor rec during Memorial Day Weekend, nothing has changed except retaliation.
