Not only do prisoners being release from North Carolina prisons have an obligation to utilize their voting rights, and encouraging their family and friends to do the same. They also have a very special election that is mandatory to their well being. "Judicial election." Approximately a week before North Carolina prisoners are released, their city or county law enforcement, are aware of the prisoners release. At this point the ex-felon becomes prey to a racial criminal justice system who need the ex-felons re-entry into the penal system to secure their employment. North Carolina lawmakers recently ended the 2002 law that created public financing of judicial elections as part of a comprehensive voter bill that also mandated voter ID's, starting 2016. Public financing money had it's good points. Outsider groups spending millions may be the cause of the many African Americans re-entry problem into North Carolina prisons. Making us prey to the predators of this states racial criminal and judicial system. Bob Hall director of Democracy North Carolina, a group that advocate for public financing wrote the following in the February 14, 2014 Charlotte Observer local and state newspaper. I quote: There had been the concern that it doesn't look right to have judges raising money from the attorneys and others who come in their courtroom: unquote. To simplify things for you, candidates no longer have public financing (taxpayers money). They have to be of wealth, be well connected or raising money from others who are wealthy. Public money did help judges from siding with influence of well-financed special interest. Judicial races were believed to have become more competitive all across the state with public financing. Now wealth will conquer unless we VOTE!!! VOTE!!! VOTE!!! Let's get those who feel like poor and minority people votes don't count. The same way we had time to runt the streets, we need to run to the voting polls.
