"An eye for an eye" is the prospective the justice system presents. But Death By Incarceration is a barbaric as well as out dated system society is accustomed to. How can society speak about reform or second chances when there not truly provided for everyone? Human nature is to evolve with time, not mentally break through oppression. This is something that needs to be heard and changed now because of it's relevancy. Death By Incarceration is a diabolical practice that has been in place for well over a century. Not to demean or diminish the fact that someone has lose their life for this practice to exist. However it still is a barbaric and out dated plague on society. We have become accustomed to this way of life that should be abolished. It is like society is stuck in an adolescent mindset when it's time to mature and grow as a nation. How can people speak about reform and second chances when they are not given? How can someone prove that he/she has changed if the opportunity is not given to show it? How many people who were given a second chance squander it away? These are questions that need to be pondered over because it makes you wonder. As time and years pass humans grow and evolve. So a person is not the same at twenty years old as he/she is at thirty five. The Justice System is stuck in a primitive pre-historic existance that wants none other than to profit off people. It's a new form of slavary that has taken over this Continent since The Emancipation Proclamation. Society doesn't care that a change should be made because the problem has not affected them personally. It shouldn't matter if it is someone close to you or someone you never met Death By Incarceration is inhumane. The men and women serving these sentences need help, assistance as well as a voice. In closing, this is something for society and politicians to acknowledge. Changes need to be made to the pre-historic views and practices of men of old. People shouldn't be judged off one bad mistake or laps in judgement but viewed from the growth they've shown from it.
