NO TITLE 4-6-2019 Before I as in Charles Anthony Paschal Jr. think to take time to write anything on this paper for the reason and purpose of sharing an essay from my viewpoint about education with education meaning the knowledge and development resulting from an educational process, I'm going to start with the words, "I greatly appreciate you for taking a brief moment of your time to give me your attention so I can share this essay about education with you!" As I progress towards my 18th year of incarceration without getting out and coming back as well as my 36th year of living life as of 4:10 I'm now experiencing a war to receive a higher legal education for the betterment of my now and the betterment of my future because within the Georgia Penal System for the mass majority of the individuals education isn't a priority that's taken serious; so its not uncommon to be housed with or around individuals that have been incarcerated for years with no legal certification of any type of education, and then all the college courses where prisoners can earn college degrees sponsored by the state was taken out of the Georgia Department of Corrections on the word of a budget cut! I come from a family of educated individuals ranging from my dad, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, brother in laws, to cousins with all types of degrees; so it's in my blood to seek an education not only from books but any education about human survival! Within my first six years of incarceration 2002 to 2008 I received my GED but could have received it sooner but was going through an adapting to prison life phase so I was in and out of the hole or administrative segregation for fighting and mostly failure to follow instructions or C-15s! Now I'm striving towards taking a correspondence course to receive a legal assistant certification but once my enrollment and acceptance as a Blackstone Career Institute student which I take as a real honor and blessing I was transferred from one state prison to another state prison! In which, I'm now being hindered from receiving this higher legal education after passing my first four exams but only receiving my 3rd & 4th exam back scoring a 100 on my 3rd exam and a 80 on my 4th exam! I am being hindered because after filling out the proper paperwork a offender miscellaneous withdrawal form for the reason for withdrawal tuition payment to receive course material according to my multifunctioning officer I'm being disapproved by the business office to have funds sent to me from my family not taken from my Georgia Department of Corrections inmate trust account and sent to my school in the form of an institutional check! However, because I care and want to have a positive productive now and future I currently have an institutional grievance in as well as have written the Distance Education Accrediting Commission! Yet instead, amongst all my challenges to receive a higher legal education I challenge and encourage everyone "to never let nothing stop you from educating yourself in life about whatever you like to be educated about because education as well as common sense makes life more easier and is the foundation of life!"
