Blanket Essay 26 June 2019 APWA: Praise יהוה [Yahweh]! About 7:00 A.M. on June 2019, my blanket fell in the toilet. It is cold, so cold some guards wear winter coats. All they left me to wear is a tshirt and thermal. So I wrap my blanket around me and it helps. I have no chair, the only place to sit is the bed (too high) or the toilet. I keep it clean and sit on the toilet, with the blanket wrapped around me. Well I did not realize it was coming off my shoulder and that part fell into the toilet and got wet. So I asked for a clean blanket, my mattress cover is also dirty so I asked for both, from 7:00 A.M. until about 6:30 P.M. I wrote a brief grievance and gave it to the Sgt. As you can see, he signed and dated it. Now it is early 26 June 2019 still no blanket and no mattress cover. I just saw a guard wearing a winter coat. I am 70 years old. 5 ft 8 inches tall and 148 pounds with bad circulation, with cold hands and feet. I am cold most of the time. I have no blanket to keep warm. Did not get much sleep last night. The 148 pounds is with sox, boxers, pants, t-shirt and hand cuffs. So I think it should be 144 pounds. Anyway, so far, I have no blanket and no mattress cover. Now I wait to see what happens.
