Confusion on the inside and outside Part (2) The public does not understand just what is going on in Tennessee State Prison when it Comes to the Corona virus Pandemic. I am sure most all States are doing the same thing in some way or another. When someone get's locked up in Prison for a Crime the State takes on that Persons Medical responsibility and medication. But now with the coronavirus due to the cost coust of said virus, cuts are being made. The cuts are in medications to inmates. They have stoped the co-payment to sick calls on inmates as they said on news for the public, but any medication that inmate needs they are not giveing to that person. In fact thay will tell you due to the pandemic all non life threatening medications have been added to your commissary items were you may buy it! Inmates make about $18.00 to 50.00 state pay monthly. Some cant pay for Meds. You have Hygienes, Stamps, Envelopes, the list goes on and on. If you dont get money from a loved one then you are without. Now let's look at a loved one giveing you money! Not only are those loved one's paying for the need you had befor Coronavirus, but now the State's have passed on the Medical Cost to the public. And at a time when The public are loosing jobs, Tax's are young up! You name it! 2 The Cost of everything is being pasted on to you, "the public"! The D.O.C. are telling you, "we the state can handle this", But fact is thay can not because you the Public are having to Pay all the Bills. No state workers are looseing jobs, in fact thay are getting pay raises. Tennessee $ one Bill a year! What dose it cost your state to Run your Prison? "TRICOR" Jobs for inmates, Rehabilitation for inmates. Inmates are still working! Rehabilitation Classes have stopped due to Coronavirus, but the work go's on! The state get's money from the Job's inmates are doing. Anything that brings the State Prisons in money dose not stop! I no I work in a Wood floor wood Plant. Mask is an option! If I don't show up for work I will loose my job you can be sure! I do not have an option on that one! Rehabilitation can stop but the money can not! I pay Room and Board and Victims comp! I had no victims! I'm non-violent, non-person crime! With 36 years! Never hurt anyone in my life! I'm sure when you seen that 36 years at 60% you thought I had killed some one, or maybe a sex crime! No not me, I got the time but did not do the crime! Guilty of non-violent but carry the big Crime sentence. I would have got less if I had of done a violent crime. 3 July 3rd today and news is saying the Pandemic is at a all time high! Shut down alot of Jobs again! I sure the States will ask the Public for more money that they dont have at this time to keep non-violent inmates locked up, sick, dying, working, bringing in the moneys. We have face Mask to use in the Unit's but do not use them in the Chow hall. We set (4) in from the next inmate eating but have to Use the face mask outside walking to and from the Chow hall. State Prison's way of saying they are on top of the Pandemic! The cost of Coronavirus to a Prison is to lock an inmate down in a cell for (14) days. An inmate is locked down so were is the extra cost? You have to buy the medications your self, or your people dose. Yes it will coust the State if you go to a outside hospital or if you die! Well not if you die, not if your people will except your body. Then you pay! Thay deliver the body to were you want it! Comes down to this, the facts! No state is telling the truth to the public. Thay are trying to keep things going, money, Job's for officers, medical staff under contracts, TRICOR Staff, Food Company Contracts, Parole Board Jobs, Cable Contracts, the list go's on and on. I am an inmate in Prison and I can't even think of the contracts the state has with 4 Companys. If thay cut the inmates and the income of money from the Tax Payers, Fed grants and so on then the State employers will be laid off. Companys will want money because of contracts. But you the Public do not matter, in fact you the Public have so say in it. Your Governor of your state has the say! Is he doing what he said he would? Is he doing what you want? Will he even come out of his office and answer what you are asking? Are you even asking what is going on? Do you even think about it? Do you no some one locked up? It's your money! Do you have a job? Are you paying out taxes? You can't go to work, open your coffee shop, Bar, and so on. That State Prison officer still has his Job! All of them! Don't you the Public think it's time you look into what is going on! Good luck! I mean that! I hope things gets better for all of us! This Pandemic go's away for all of us! But you should no off the top the coust of this will go on for years to come! The longer it takes you to ack, the longer it's going to talk you the Tax payers to pay the Bills. So I do pray for all of us to have Better luck then we now have! Stay Safe! "I am trying", until I can go home to my kids and Grandkids, if thay are still alive when I get home! Tony Beasley
