Examples of "Perfect Criminal" by James W. Harkleroad The "perfect criminal" is that individual who is never held responsible by society, for the crime he, or she, has committed. The "perfect criminal" is a very rare bird of prey, and the reason for that rarity can be seen in the following examples. The "stranger": Absolutely no connection between criminal and victim other than the crime itself. The "accident maker": victim injured/dies from an "accident" or "natural causes" (e.g., induced stress promoting a heart attack). The "cover user": The crime is "hidden" in a noncriminal activity. E.g., an individual who has been kidnapped will be viewed as simply being a "runaway" in the absence of any evidence to the contrary. The "manipulator": (a) The "expresser" who states a desire to one who (for a variety of reasons) wishes to please the one expressing the desire. (b) The "employer" who pays another. (c) The "muscle" who uses threats to manipulate another to do a crime. (d) The "tempter/facilitator" who outlines how something could be done - if one was of a mind to do it. (e) The "government protected" who is connected to those in power. (f) The "loopholer" who uses others ignorance/mistakes to "legally" commit crime. E.g., government contractors. The "petty" who commit crimes that are so small in damage that they are ignored. (The author is a former (1971, 1972) Death Row residents.)
