FREEDOM IS PRICELESS To the Youth of the World: When you commit a violent crime, the victims could easily die, and you, the offender, could die too, or sooner or later, you will be arrested and sent to prison for many decades (20, 30, 40 years) or the rest of your life. In society, our lives may not always be easy with all the problems we may face in this world, but there is nothing even close to being as bad as prison. Think of all the suffering that victims can feel regardless of how small the crime is. Think of all the suffering that you will put your family through if you die or go to prison. They need you beside them, not far away from them. If you try to take shortcuts to provide for them right now, you could easily end up dead or in prison, and then what? Who is going to provide for them once you are gone? If you cause harm to other people, you will carry a heavy burden on your conscience. Being in prison with a guilty conscience is very stressful. Life is not easy, but if you are honest and work hard, God will help you, you will meet people that see your honesty and effort and they will help you succeed. You will find many obstacles in the way, that is a part of life, but you can overcome them. Educate yourself and be determined to do the best you can do, with what you have, where you are. Please, do not waste your life by committing crimes. Do not do that. Learn from my example: I have already been in prison for almost 20 years. You do not want that for yourself. Do not risk your freedom for anything, you won’t know how precious it is until you lose it. Do not make the mistake of joining criminal groups — gangs, cartels, or terrorist organizations. They will use you, abuse you and tell you to commit crimes, and when you are of no more use to them, they will push you to the side. If a so-called “friend,” tells you to do something that you know in your heart is not right (like commit a crime), the loyalty that you have to that person should cease to exist. This person is no longer your friend; they do not have your best interest at heart, so run away. I am telling you this from my personal experience so you won’t have to go through the same experience I did, and learn the hard way. Think about your actions and all the consequences that could result. Do not drink or do drugs, be healthy and exercise. Take care of yourself because you are worth it!
