An accident that created an unwanted financial burden on a middle class family- the reason they couldn't have ‘nice things.‘ In 2002 I came to prison with two consecutive life sentences. I thought my life was over when it had really just begun. Prison got me away from a life of smoking pot in front of my television. Finally taking the time to explore my creativity, I became a passable artist and an award winning writer. I also finally made it to college (Villanova) 33 years late.
