No Need for Advance Notice

It is 634 am on a Sunday, and I am already having to put pen to paper, because of a lazy, argumentative officer who does not want to exert any effort to do her job. I have a planned visit today at 730 am, and when I read the list of scheduled appointments today on the callout, I discovered that I am on callout to medical for labs at 830 am. In my mind, the responsible thing for me to do is to let medical know that I will not be able to be there because I will be in visitation. When I went to med call at 545 am I spoke to the medical officer, who advised me that the lab person did not start work until 700 am and to have my unit officer call down to medical closer to that time. Upon
-one- returning from breakfast, and having passed the Lab Tech in the hallway, I spoke to my unit officer (c/o Gorigs) and explained the situation to her, and she immediately has a huge attitude saying she is not calling medical. She continues to argue with me that it makes no sense that the medical officer would tell me to have my unit c/o call. I respond with "okay", and return to my pod & cell. There were a total of 3-4 officers just hanging out in the unit bubble, and not one of them could perform the simple task of picking up a telephone to address a issue [before] it became a issue. The crazy thing here at NDOC-FMWCC (Las Vegas, NV) is that when a inmate attempts to handle a situation in a positive way - being proactive like I believe someone out in society would be, its like hitting a brick wall. The unfortunate thing is that when a misconduct is issued for not going to a scheduled appt.
-two- no one (staff) wants to hear why you did not show up for a appt., and the inmate is made to look like the one who is not being responsible. The frustrating fact that whatever a officer decides to do, is what happens, and I have zero control over the situation. There is no way for me to call down to medical to let them know what is going on etc... Basically the outcome is a product of their (NDOC employee's) inability to do their job with even a minimal amount of effort on their part.
