Johnsons Vol. 4 - - Psychological Aspects - Let me first start off by saying my past writings, (Volumes 1, 2, and 3) are not wrote as elegant as this one, and the following volumes will be. At the time, I wasn't aware that my writings would be publicly displayed in the original form. Which is very great. So excuse the past scripts and the messy writing . . . . . . . . . Thank you. When you ask a human being that has been incarcerated or "is" incarcerated. What makes the mass population of people incarcerated in prison act according to the set rules and policy which that prison has created? They will typically respond with a Answer in accordance with Fear of losing Parole, early-release, or catching a new charge. These are true but the number one root reason is psychological Programming. Prisons always have a mass number of humans inside the facility, but the percentage of the inmates incarcerated in that prison compared to guards is usually/approximately about ninety-five to ninety percent inmates to a five to ten percent guards. So for every one-hundred criminals that are in prison its ten guards controlling this one hundred. (rough draft scenario/prisons differ in population ratio) Point I'm making is that the only way that this control can happen is through psychological programming. Prison Guards in America have no guns in the Unit/Prison. Only weapons they have available immediate are petty pepper spray cans. Its the mind frame that a Human enters into the Prison with that makes each individual feel like he must abide by these false rules, and imaginative boundaries in order to gain his freedom. When every Prison across America has the Man-Power, and Will for the inmate population to free themselves. Let me tell you how Texas State Prison has deepened this psychological effect. Very rarely does Texas allow their inmates to house with another who is of the same race, or gang. When you do this you have a clash of cultures and beliefs. (Other states do the same) The effect from the above, is that inmates cannot stand being in the cell with this polar opposite. It takes a strong, humbled mind to have no problem. If a scenario occurs and inmates decide to come together, beyond the Fear of doing more time than needed, the mental block of having to be locked in the cell for a large amount of time with the culture clash makes inmates just comply with rules and regulations. When I was younger I would dread being in a cell with certain cellmates I had. Now I've developed a way to adapt, and do what I call My cellmates time. (Of course depending on his morals and standards) Inmates love going to do outside cell activities just to be relieved from being underneath another Human twenty four hours a day. This same psychological programming is why inmates in Texas work for free. They love not Being in the cell or the Dorm. In all actuality there is no escaping other prisoners until you are released. Some guards take advantage of the psychological programming by allowing certain inmates total reign over a certain job or section of a prison, whether its the kitchen, or ect. If you give the "Right" prisoner a position to control the production and economy he will believe he has true power. This is a delusion, and a imaginary figment to a human being who is in relation of whats going on. At any given moment all prisoners are replaceable, and inevitably will be replaced. All it takes is Time. Sad to say many are blinded by the minute benefits that they receive in certain positions throughout the prisons. Next you have the so-called prison politics with nationality clashes and/or gangs. Here you find people who sometimes have no control over things in the world, but once again in this closed psychological realm, (prison), they make demands, and control others. Setting claims on certain areas of the prison. Tables, chairs, TVs . . . . ect. Once again, at any given time these material items within the prison walls can be taken away at any moment. But its this division, that prevents most authorities from ever worrying about Prisoners coming together. "Together we stand by divided we fall." As you can see people worry about losing position, and power. That they believe they have no matter how small it truly is, When they can make the sacrifice of something so petty, to make a cause for a greater good. And I'm not just saying rallying to overthrow a prison and escape. But to fix the obstructions of certain prison policies, and/or correct errors in certain prison systems that are of no benefit to helping inmates in positive ways. There are so many mental obstacles that make a inmate prisoner, then he truly is a prisoner, via then he truly is physically locked up. On some small points, you have inmates that have psychological problems in the relationship field. First the inmate and guard. When it comes to a man and woman nature can not be excluded because the natural facts of Life and the reproduction of Life will take its course. Some inmates truly believe that every woman wants to work in a prison to see men everyday. Some women may work in prisons for this reason but not all. Thats common sense. Most of these men whose mind frame is set on the former, have no problem exposing their penis to female guards, and making eye contact while masturbating. For a man to see a woman and perform this act immediately, without a womans request is a mental problem. Prime example would be: if you wanted to approach a woman in the world do you as a man immediately pull out your penis and start masturbating. If you did this what would be that reaction from the woman. There you have a no self-control psychological problem, and the psychological problem may be even deeper, depending on what that individual is locked up for, and/or the past criminal actions that individual has committed. Now a male and female guard can have a relationship, but . . . . . what determines the authority of the relationship. Some inmates get out and live happily ever after with the female guard. But other times its just a mental game. The female guard, has the upper hand because, one she is free to do as she wishes, two she has your freedom in her hands to a certain extent. Many times female guard craves attention, or she enjoys the control over a mans heart and actions, like some women do period. But for the particular female guard who is aware of cause and effect, knows the specific acts she can perform to get a inmate to act according to her will. A form of hypnosis you can call it, or psychological programming once again. On the flip side, the inmate may have will power and control over the Female guard alot stronger than she has over him, and he doesnt care about her, but She is deceived and Seduced into believing different. Now the guard is acting at the will of the inmate. With both points you can see the psychology behind the situations. Of course there are other relationships that occur in prison by Im not going to speak on that which I do not know anything about or understand. Mail is one of the most things some people/inmates have problems with that really messes with their mind. Along with the telephone. People have attachments to their kids, or lovers, family and friends. The worst mental problem that occurs is whenever they have lost this attachment and they dont know why, or they have lost this attachment and know why but refuse to accept this harsh reality. I have my family and friends, even associates. But in Prison you cannot have attachment to that which you cant control. Alot of people fail to realize you cant control what you physically are not apart of, unless the mental control was firmly placed in that persons head before you were physically removed from their presence. And at the end of the day whatever happens to anyone, we have compassion for there is nothing that you as a inmate can do but cry or/and wish them the Best. Our support to those Free is very limited. But to repeatedly sweat/stress behind what you have no control of at the moment is mental madness. Last obstacle of the mind I would like to address is the Worry inmates have of their Future. When will we get out? Will we ever get Out? What are we going to do when we get Out? What if what we have planned when we get out doesnt work? There are dozens and ten times more questions one asks himself about his future. Because each individual has obstacles they must face when they leave that come from their past. But there is no reason to Worry about the Future. No matter how much calculation we do, there is no way that you can map out exactly how your future is going to be down to the minute. You may have a brief target and hit in the range, but what you perceive in your mind at the moment of your future is a Mere Fantasy, Dream, or Illusion. The past is behind you and you cant get that back its History. The Present is what you are doing right now. The future is just a Illusion because your thinking about what it would or could be like. However you are doing what your doing in the Present because of the things you did in your Past, and if you want to know what your going to be doing in the Future, just look at what you are doing right now. Inmates should always know that Preparation is key, and Worry is never needed, but Hope is the one thing that all Human beings possess, (free or not free). - Datra Chevalier Johnson - 2-23-19
