pg. 1 Submission Sunday 8-2-2020 "Thoughtful Hearts" About a month or so ago, I was blessed with not one but two pen pals, from two different states who wanted to show their support to fellow L.G.B.T.Q.+ inmates who're going through this Coronavirus Pandemic and to maybe become friends in the near future if we continue to bond. They came into my life at a time that I was feeling the most depressed that nobody cared, especially my so-called family. Now that I have someone to express my everyday thoughts, fears and desires to, I have an abundance of motivation to write constantly! All the pent-up emotions I had are flooding out like a river. Yes, there's a possibility that they <the pen pals> might fade away or stop writing all together but at least I know that I was apart of someone's life for a short time. The other fact-of-the matter is; there may be those who need my support somewhere down the road, which is why I have to stay hopeful and ready to be there for them. All this is because two strangers with huge hearts took a chance on me, which, in turn, sparked me back to the land of the living emotionally. Being in prison around all this hate, violence and loneliness, drains a person of energy trying to just survive on a daily basis. To add to this, we or I have to worry about trying not to be effected by Covid-19 due to either someone's neglect or my own for not being too vigilant. pg.2 Amazingly, I worry about my pen pal's well being more than mine due to the fact that they are facing unknown dangers from every direction like rails, clothes, people, animals, surfaces and close-range coughing or sneezing. We face it in a lesser risk only because no one's contracted Covid-19 as of yet. If one does catch coronavirus in here, then it'd be an outbreak no matter how much the prison medical staff does because they <prison medical staff> are housing suspected, or infected inmates in regular units under quarantine but still around uninfected inmates, which is scary to me knowing this. Well folks, pray for us in prison to keep from catching Covid-19 and God bless my pen pals who is in short supply on this earth. Be easy & take care, Sincerely Shariff Taylor R.J.D.C.F. 480 Alta Road San Diego, CA. 92179
