"Truth About Recidivism" By Alan Sorensen There is this idea, at least it's true for me, that those of us that learn as adults what we never did as children, our minds soak up information like a sponge. There is a real couriosity about people and the world we live in. I myself have been blessed with some very good teachers these last ten years. So the question is why is there so much "Recidivism" in such a rich culture with so much to offer to those willing to work for it. I can only give you a basic observation from close to thirty years in these man made hell holes. Recidivism is like the old idea of the test of insanity, our law makers keep on doing the same things and somehow expect different results. Now to cut fact from fiction, all the Recidivism truly comes from paroling what society and some politiicans call short term offenders, that in all truth have what we once called back on the farm, individuals who have no skin in the game. Those with such short term sentences know they can do anything they wish, it's like a get out of jail free card, the dont care or even recognize just how precious life and freedom is. So few are willing to push a broom, do what ever it takes to have and live a normal life. Innocent or guilty has lost all it's meaning to long term offenders who only want what so many take for granted, a little peace, happiness, love home and family, is that asking so much? All or most short term offenders is where you see this recidivism, the rest of us never get a chance to prove our worth. Talk about insanity, is this not something we need to change and start truly expect different results. Do the tax payers, of which I was one, who worked to pay my bills need a break from this endless cycle, so ask the question. Is the cost worth it? Thank you
