Tamez, Brian C. Gatesville, TX 7/28/2017 What's on the menu? Around 8:30 am, Friday 07/28/2017, I arrived at my new unit of assignment, the Alfred Hughes Unit in Gatesville, TX. Ironically, the administration had no idea why I was shipped to their unit - "24 hour medical unit". Security Threat Group, + Safe prisons personnel claimed to know nothing of the assault that took place, or the validation, as well as approval for transfer via Warden Gonzalez - Segovia unit. Upon asking to speak to assistant Warden Powell, to explain my situation before the unit classification committee, as is the norm, I was told, "no, there ain't nothin' for us to talk about!" Warden Powell, was Major Powell about one-year ago, at the Mark W. Free-Stiles Unit! Aside from the trending administrative games, the Hughes Unit has similar feeding policies as does the Free Stiles. Currently, T.D.C.S. is using the "heat" as an excuse for serving cold-trays in the evenings. Coincidentally these trays are nameless in content, + consist of mostly carrots, beans, and dry noodles. I guarantee you that whatever they are feeding us, is not consistent with the menu that is available for public viewing. That is a slight gamble though, for they have not bothered to post the menu here, for over one week, at least! So, as far as the menu looks like, more of the same. "They" will probably deal with this problem the same way that they dealt with the federal mandate regarding inhumanity - numerous deaths due to improper ventilation / A.C. They may chose to simply ignore it, and go the cheaper route + simply -- pay a fine! And, everybody wins -- right, almost everybody; not you, the tax-payer or "we the living" -- in a supersized concrete toaster oven! (R.I.P. Ayn [Rand ?])
